University of Maryland Senior Found Dead in Car



A University of Maryland student was found dead in her car Sunday night, WTOP reports.

Katherine Morris, 22, was found slumped behind the wheel of vehicle near Arundel Mills Mall. Police are investigating the incident, but say there are no clear signs of foul play.

It is not known how long Morris’ body was in the vehicle. Morris, a senior at the university, was found by mall security officers, ABC 7 reports.

Friends of Morris were distraught by news of her death. Some took to Twitter express their sorrow over the matter.

“kathy was one of the sweetest girls i ever met. shy to the outsiders but so inspiring to all her close friends, Marcela Jordan (@theycallmeCELA) told WTOP in a tweet. “she really wanted to make a difference in the world.. planned on joining the air force #RIPkathy.”

Diamond Burton (@Nah_noSparkle) tweeted “I can’t believe this. Im so sorry that she’s gone. Gone too soon. Rest in Peace Kathy Morris.” That Tweet was followed by one that read, “Trying to figure out what I could of did for her.”

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed.
