Today was supposed to be a day football fans come together to welcome in a new era of the NFL’s next superstars. Now, a bit of that joy and excitement has diminished as the National Football League is “moving toward suspending” the Pro Bowl, according to ESPN’ Mike Mortensen on the ‘Mike & Mike in the Morning’ show.
The Pro Bowl, started in January 1971, featured the league’s talented players from the AFC and the NFC. As the game continued throughout the years, the league felt interest diminished in the game.
The Pro Bowl previously took place a week after the Super Bowl. But in 2010, they held the game before the championship game for the first time.
