Montana of 300 was uninspired by Hypno Carlito’s antics to draw him into a rap beef. Hypno Carlito released his song “I Know Montana” to address his issues with the self-proclaimed Rap God.



Montana told Andrea O during an interview he hasn’t listened to the record, but said he’s heard of it.

“There’s other people that’s made diss songs about who’s not really lyrical at all,” he said. “…That’s really nothing new to me. It doesn’t excite me; it doesn’t change anything I’m doing. It’s not stopping money from coming in my pockets. It’s not stopping me from feeding my kids.”

Montana said he found Hypno in an Atlanta mall.

“I heard he was in the mall,” he said. “I was in the mall in Atlanta and I went and found him. I’m a firm believer of if you say anything to me over the Internet, be ready to say it to my face. He wasn’t that type of guy at all when I went and seen him in person. He told me he had respect for me.

Hypno told his side of bumping into Montana during an interview with Hip Hops Revival.

“It’s funny cause I didn’t expect to see [Montana of 300]. I was in the mall and I had just come out Footlocker and I was going in another store,” Carlito explained. “I was only with two people. I peeped him first. The n***a was with like 12, 13 n****s, so I instantly smiled like, ‘Ight, it’s cracking.’ I know what’s up. Ain’t nothing to talk about. …At the same time, he walked up to me. …My boy Jason was like ‘What the f**k is up?’ Montana was like ‘Nah, I ain’t on that.’ Montana was like he just wanna talk. You can tell he’s coming humble. He ain’t coming b***h made. He pulled me to the side and was like ‘What’s going on?’”



Carlito reasoned that he never threatened Montana’s life.

“It’s rap,” he said. “I feel like I’m a better rapper.”
