Migos Explain Stage Name, Define ‘Bando’

The Migos’ stage name isn’t as innocent as it appears. The Migos have become staples in many Rap heads’ headsets after their hit song “Versace” went viral.

The Migos appeared in an interview with Hot 97 to explain meaning behind their stage name.

“We always ran together on the north side as Migos, as boys,” the duo explained.

But their name also describes the drug trade in Georgia.

“It’s actually the hub of drugs out there,” they explained. “Everything that come in Georgia gotta in there first, so we just call it Migos.”

Migos also defined “Bando,” another term for an abandoned house that is used as a trap house for drugs to be made and sold.

The duo said their trap music is based on what they’ve witnessed.

“See it. Growing up around it. Or you might hop up in the house and you might be in it,” the said.
