Lupe Fiasco to Retire after Two More Albums?

Rapper Lupe Fiasco bewildered fans around the country when he said he would be retiring from the Hip-Hop profession. The “Kick Push” emcee made this shocking admission after a brief public feud erupted between himself and fellow Chicago rapper Chief Keef on Twitter.

Chief Keef sent the “Kick Push” rapper a tweet saying, “Lupe fiasco a h*e ass ni*ga And wen I see him I’ma smack him like da bi*tch he is #300.”

Keef took issue with a Lupe Fiasco interview posted by Fake Shore Drive last month.

“Chief Keef scares me,” Lupe said. “Not him specifically, but just the culture that he represents. Specifically in Chicago. And I don’t speak this about any other city because I’m not from there. But like my family lives in Chicago. So my nephews, my cousins, my friends, and my peoples they all in those hoods that he represents. When you drive through Chicago…The hoodlums, the gangsters, and the ones you see killing each other. And the murder rate in Chicago is skyrocketing and you see who’s doing it and perpetrating it, they all look like Chief Keef.”

After receiving backlash from Keef, Lupe wrote on his Twitter he is hanging up his gloves in the world of Hip-Hop. His tweets read:

“my father I have spoken the truth to them yet it has only made my life in this world more troubled. I can bear this no longer…”

“I have spoken peace only 2 receive vitriol and malice in return. My brother seeks destruction my sister seeks attention path to nothingness.”

“i’d die for them … but they’d probably spit on my grave… I still will die for them…just bury in a place farfrom their reach… Amin”

“This album will probably be my last… its been a pleasure to have all my fans provide so much love an inspiration for me and my family.”

“but my heart is broken and I see no comfort further along this path only more pain. I cannot participate any longer in this…”

“My first true love was literature so I will return to that… lupe fiasco ends here…”

“peace and much love 2 ya!….”

Lupe revealed in an interview with Music Feeds TV hehe is under contract for two more albums.

“After this part one and part two I am basically kind of done because that album is almost finished, Lupe told Music Feeds TV. “I won’t make music for commercial purposes after that. It’ll be more just artistic and kind of developing my other music projects. We got SNDCLSH, my DJ electro kind of thing and Japanese Cartoon, which is like my punk band.”

The “B*tch Bad” rapper revealed he may change his name.

“I don’t even know if Lupe Fiasco is going to exist after skulls,” he said. “I might just even do a name change.”

Lupe said it is up to him whether he would continue doing rap music after his contract obligations are fulfilled.

“I know I have to do those three, part one, two and skulls,” he said. “After that, it’s if I feel like it. If I feel like making a rap album, I’ll make it.”
