Lil Herb To Be Featured In Common’s Upcoming Album ‘Nobody Smiling’

Lil Herb is set to appear on fellow Chicago native Common’s upcoming album “Nobody Smiling.”

Lil Herb revealed details of his role in this project during an interview with The Source.

“Common, the big homie,” the “Koolin” rapper told The Source. Common reached out to me. Common just hit my phone a couple weeks ago to see how I was doing. He gave me a verse on the intro of his album. I f*cks with Common, that’s about it.”

Common, Herb said, gave him some advice on pushing his craft.

“When I first spoke to him, he was like, ‘keep it up,’ ” Herb explained. “He told me that he like my style and the way that I carry myself. And with my work ethic, I can go real far and he told me don’t ever stop doing the sh*t.”

Common stated in a Revolt TV interview his forthcoming album was initially an EP. He went on to explain the inspiration behind the project.

“…We just been making a lot of songs, myself and No I.D., and I like the direction,” he explained. “We came up with this concept “Nobody Smiling” because of all the violence that was going on in Chicago.

“We gone bring to fruition that’s it’s gon stop,” Common continued. “All the violence, it happens in Chicago, but it happens around the world….it’s happening in the inner cities all over America. We talking about the conditions of what’s happening. I said “Nobody Smiling,” but it’s really a call to action.”

Common’s tenth studio album is slated to drop sometime this year.
