Lil Durk Had A ‘Point To Prove’ In ‘Signed To The Streets’ Mixtape

Lil Durk set out to make a name for himself in the music industry. Lil Durk commented in his “Streets Wanna Know Vlog 2,” he was an underdog coming into the rap industry.

Durk put out a mixtape prior to his Def Jam release titled “Life Ain’t No Joke,” but stated “Signed To The Streets” was more personal.

“Life Ain’t No Joke,” it was like I was rapping. I just do what rappers do…put out music,” Durk told Blind Folks Films. “‘Signed To The Streets’ was like I got a point to prove…being underrated for a long time. Always trying to be in the first spot…I want to be seen through that time period.”

Durk was pleased with the reception of his first major label project.

“It got a lot of views, downloads,” he said. “I got a lot of people who dig me…Ross, Khaled…Rich Homie Quan, CashOut, Meek, French… so I know I’m doing something good.”
