Lil Durk Fan, Maxwell Gadau, Shot and Killed For Repping GDK?

A teenage fan of Lil Durk was gunned down in a suburban Chicago neighborhood Sunday night.

Maxwell Gadau, 17, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back in Skokie around 9:40 p.m., CBS Chicago reports. A 17-year-old girl was also reportedly wounded in this shooting. She is listed in a critical condition at a hospital.

Rumors are circulating on the cause of Gadau’s murder. A post surfaced on social media alleging Gadau was killed for repping “GDK,” an acronym for Gangster Disciple Killer.

Gadau was a huge fan of popular Def Jam recording artist Lil Durk. He took a photo with the “Hell In My City” rapper before his untimely demise.

“Can anyone even explain this,” the caption on his post read.

Durk learned of Gadau’s death and expressed his condolences.

Durk posted the image of himself and Gadau with a caption, reading, “Rest in peace to one of my fans that just got killed my condolence goes out to his family.”

Many fans of Chiraq Hip Hop have come to adopt the gang affiliated hand signs and lingo of their favorite artists. Lil Bugg, for instance, grew in popularity after mimicking his favorite rapper Chief Keef in online video posts.

Gadau and the female victim both attended Niles North High School. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the deadly shooting.
