A member of the Latin King street gang murdered a rival gang member in cold blood after the victim refused to renounce his gang, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Abel Ruiz, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Brandon Cage.
Ruiz reportedly approached members of the Gangster Disciples street gang and demanded they “throw down the fork,” a hand signed used by the street gang.
Cage didn’t comply with Ruiz’s demands and was shot three times in the chest.
Ruiz fled the scene, but was arrested a short while later.
