Kanye West Says He Never Liked ‘Gold Digger’

Kanye West often describes himself as a musical genius. But what comes with that title is the trait of being a perfectionist.

And even a perfectionist wishes he or she can do things differently.

Kanye revealed during an interview with Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1 that he wasn’t a fan of his own hit single “Gold Digger,” which he asserts he “never really liked.”

“…But I always knew I would get paid for doing “Gold Digger,” he adds.

The single, which samples Ray Charles “I Got A Woman, hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart after its release on Sept. 6, 2005.
