J. Cole Wanted Nas On ‘New York Times’

Fans patiently awaiting the release of J. Cole’s highly anticipated sophomore album have even better news in store for them.

The “Power Trip” rapper will include a bonus disc, titled “Yours Truly 3,” in the deluxe version of the album “Born Sinner.”

The North Carolina native released a single from the disc, titled “New York Times.”

Cole recently explained the concept behind the song with Power 106’s Backstage Breakfast series at Universal Studios.

“The song is called ‘New York Times,’ and really it’s a Queens thing,” Cole explained. “My original idea was to put Nas and 50 on there. That’s what I was trying to do. But I got 50. You’ll hear the record. It’s a real New York record and Queens is my second home. I’m from North Carolina but I’ve been in Queens for the past 10 years. That’s why I got 50.”

“Born Sinner” is slated to hit stores and iTunes on June 18.
