Friends & Family Remember Joshua ‘JayLoud’ Davis On Christmas 2013



It has been a year since aspiring Chicago rapper Joshua “JayLoud” Davis was gunned down in a senseless killing on Christmas Day 2012.

Davis was reportedly murdered following an argument with several men on a CTA bus over his sweatshirt, which bore the picture of slain Chicago rapper Lil JoJo. The men chased Davis off of the bus and shot him several times in the torso and once in the head.



Many affiliates of the Bricksquad camp honored the Davis, including Swagg Dinero, Doogie, Killa Kemo, Lil Flip and Thot Boy rapper VonMar.

Swagg remembered both his brother and Davis in a Twitter post, writing, “#BIP JoJo n Jay Loud.”



Swagg previously reminisced on a music video JayLoud shot for him.

“I remeber folks shot my “Chris Paul” video. Go look it up, He made folks hold da camera so he can get in a shot. Go watch dat #bipJayLoud,” he wrote.



Before his passing, Davis asked Swagg if he could hop on his “Bout Dat Life” track. Swagg posted a screenshot of the IG messages he and JayLoud shared..

“ITS ONLY RIGHT. BIP JOSH JAYLOUDWORLD,” Swagg wrote on the caption of the photo.



Swagg’s manager Doogie honored Davis and additionally called for an end to senseless gun violence.

“#BIPjayLoud #JoshDay #JayLoud RIP JAYLOUD #SMH STOP THE SHOOTING CMON DAMM @JayLoud93 #JayCity #JoshBlock #JoJoWorld PartyInPeace 2day,” he wrote.



Bricksquad OG Killa Kemo created an IG post with a caption, reading, “Turn up Jayloud day!!!!”



Rapper Flip recounted the moment he learned of Davis’ demise, saying he didn’t want to believe it.

“I Gotta Call From FlyTy Den Gt Another Call Cuz Said Yu Was Gone I Didn’t wanna believe I tryd to think it wasn’t Yu Bt it was RIP JAYLOUD,” he wrote.



“JOSHUA DAVIS (JAYLOUD) Miss You My Nigga xx Cool Nigga Gne To Soon See You Wen My Day Come Bro Squad xx,” he added.



Thot Boy rapper Vonmar wrote he and FBG affiliate Dex were going to “turn up” to honor Davis.

“Finna go TURN up Wit DEX n nem for #jayLoud DAY SQUADD!!!!” he wrote.



Rapper Benzo, a close friend of Davis, wrote he, too, would honor his friend by turning up.



The support for Davis didn’t end there. A lot more friends and family of Davis honored the slain teen on social media.
