French Montana was under scrutiny after Chinx’s mother hinted he may have some information about her son’s murder. French cleared the air on the matter during an interview with Wendy Williams.
“I love Chinx’s mom, but I think me and her never had a relationship. I never spoke to her when he was alive,” French said. “I might’ve spoke to her one time. The second time I spoke to her was at the funeral. She just asked me, ‘what’s going on with my son.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know. I told him to stay out the streets. Like don’t be driving around four in the morning by yourself or even with another person. She said, ‘You’re not his father.’ I said, ‘Okay.’
“As far as Chinx, all I did was give him a platform to feed his family,” he continued. “I never made a dollar off of him. Every money he made on tour, I told him take care of your family. He was in the streets at the time selling drugs. I gave him a platform. By the time last year came, he had his own house, his own car. His family was good. I did my job. If I tell you what to do and you don’t wanna listen, you know.”
