Former High School Football Star Falsely Accused of Rape to Try Out for Seattle Seahawks

Brian Banks is getting the opportunity of a lifetime he has always hoped for since becoming incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit, The Associated Press reports.

The 26-year-old former high school football standout will have the opportunity to tryout for the Seattle Seahawks football team. Banks was once a star middle linebacker at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll once recruited Brian Banks for the University of Southern California Trojans. Carroll is offering Banks another opportunity in the June 7 tryouts.

Banks served five years in prison after pleading no contest to rape and an enhancement of kidnapping, AP reports.

The alleged victim Wanetta Gibson, whom Banks has known since childhood, has now recanted her story. Last Thursday, a judge threw out the conviction, AP reports.

We, at, wish Banks the best in his future endeavors and hope he gets his shot at the NFL!!!
