A former Brown University student dismissed from the university following accusations of rape dropped a lawsuit against the school and family of the alleged victim, according to Bloomberg.
On Tuesday, William McCormick III and his parents dropped the suit in U.S. District Court in Providence, Rhode Island.
McCormick was expelled from Brown in 2006. He filed his suit in 2009 against Brown University; Marcella Dresdale, the alleged victim; and her father, Richard for falsely accusing him of rape.
“The McCormicks and the Dresdales have resolved all of the disputes between them which are the subject of the lawsuit to their mutual satisfaction,” J. Scott Kilpatrick, a lawyer for the McCormicks told Bloomberg.
A criminal complaint was never filed in connection with reported assault.
