Drake Gives Back, Donates Recording Studio To Philadelphia High School

Drizzy Drake is using his influence as a multi-platinum selling artist to spark change at a Philadelphia high school.

Strawberry High School, an at-risk institution, was profiled in ABC’s Diane Sawyer’s “Hidden America” segment.

Drake viewed the series and was personally affected.

“I caught this piece that Diane did and by the end of it, I was so heavily affected, I started questioning like major aspects of my life,” The “Nothing Was The Same” rapper said.

Drake told students he would be there for them.

“I’ma be here for you, I promise,” he said.

Drake announced to students he would be building a recording studio inside the school.

“In the next few months, I’m building a recording studio inside the school,” he told a packed gymnasium of students. “This is about you, this is about your principal, This is about your future. I love you, I care about you, I want to see you succeed.”
