Diddy Praises French Montana’s ‘Excuse My French’ As Best Album By NYC Rapper in 10 Years

Hip Hop mogul Diddy raised a few eyebrows on Twitter early Tuesday after praising his artist French Montana for his debut album project.

“I just heard the new @FrenchMontana album #ExcuseMyFrench in stores MAY 21st!! The best album from a NYC rapper in 10 years!! True story!!!” he wrote.

There has been a slew of great material from New York City rappers since 2003, so it is interesting to see whether Diddy is telling the truth or simply acting as marketing guru. Not to mention Jay Z’s most recent effort was Watch The Throne.

Even Montana has confidence in his project. Montana challenged 50 Cent to an album sales contest, saying, “@50cent if u really about Dat life lets drop our album da same day and see who sell more u had your turn old man.”
