Comedian Lil’ Duval took to Twitter to weigh in on the recent cancellation of Shawty Lo’s ‘All My Babies’ Mamas’ on the Oxygen channel.
The Florida native’s comments came in response to CNN Analyst Roland Martin’s tweets of praise for the show’s cancellation.
“Y’all know Shawty Lo’s “All My Babies’ Mamas” had ratchet written all over it. @sabrinalamb was right to get @oxygen to back out of it.
“But congrats to @sabrinalamb for leading the charge to get @oxygen @oxygenpr to stop a ratchet reality show before it got launched!” Martin wrote on his Twitter account.
Lil’ Duval questioned the backlash surrounding Shawty Lo’s series, but none on other degrading reality shows currently on air, namely “Bad Girls Club.”
“So take shawty lo show off and keep bad girls club on? @rolandsmartin @sabrinalamb @oxygen
“Bad girls club main audience is kids. If that’s what yo concern was that’s the show u should’ve been petitioning
“Blacks focus on the wrong things I swear
“I’m not defending nothing I’m just pointing out how we are hypocritical we can be,” Lil’ Duval wrote.
Oxygen pulled the plug on the highly controversial reality series after a petition obtained more than 37,000 signatures.
Oxygen issued a statement that read, “as part of our development process, we have reviewed casting and decided not to move forward with the special.”
Shawty Lo is currently securing signatures on an online petition to get the show back on air.
