Chief Keef kept his word and paid for the funeral of baby Dillan Harris, according to Billboard.
Dillan’s homegoing service was held Monday, July 20. Dillan, who wore a white suit, was buried in a tiny white coffin, according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Dillan Harris lost his life after his stroller was hit by a car driven by a gunman fleeing the scene of Capo’s murder. Dillan, known as “Dill Pickle,” was on his way to the beach with his mom and two older sisters.
Antoine Watkins, 21 charged with Dillan’s murder. Watkins was also charged with attempting to elude police and not having a driver’s license and driving without insurance, according to DNAinfo.com.
Dillan’s family is expected to be gifted with another donation from Sosa.
Sosa and FilmOn CEO Alki David planned to donate proceeds from their hologram performance to Dillan’s family.
Sosa attempted to hold his benefit concert at Craze Fest at the Pavilion at Wolf Lake on Saturday, July 25 in Hammond, IN. But the concert was ultimately shut down.
Sosa preached a message of nonviolence before it was shut down.
“Stop the violence,” he said. “Stop the killing. Stop the nonsense. Let the kids grow up.”
Sosa then performed his hit single “I Don’t Like” to an enthusiastic crowd.
Sosa and Alki David’s HologramUSA are now vying for the Chicago Theater, according to the Chicago Sun Times. Sosa will reportedly be broadcasted simultaneously in Los Angeles, New York and the Windy City in an event that will feature an all-star Hip Hop lineup.
Sosa’s concert may be a definite go this time around. David’s HologramUSA is partnering with Madison Square Garden Company, which manages properties in the three cities.
Sosa didn’t hold his tongue when he lashed out against Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Twitter for having his performance canceled.
“Call Mayor of Chicago @rahemanuel 312-744-5000 and tell him to stay the f*ck off the people’s music #StopTheViolenceNow
“I think I’m the Biggest Capper of all time!!!!!!!” he wrote.
GloHive heeded Sosa’s call and subsequently trolled the mayor for canceling the concert.
The Glo Gang rapper then took to Twitter to announce his mayoral campaign for the City of Chicago.
“I’m running for mayor of Chicago….. Vote for me!!!!! It’ll be the best thing done yet!!!!! Yall gonna love me in the Office,” he wrote.
This isn’t Sosa’s first charitable act for a child killed by violence. He paid the funeral costs of slain 2-year-old baby Jakariah Patterson in 2014.
Baby Jakariah died following a March 19 beating at the hands of her own father in their South Suburban Lansing, IL home, multiple news outlets report.
Sosa posted a news article of the young girl to his IG account with a caption, reading, “RIP TO JAKARIAH PATTERSON BEAT TO DEATH BY. TELL THE NEWS TO REPORT THIS IM PAYING FOR THE FUNERAL.”
