Chicago Artist Chella H Gives Back By Hosting 1st Annual Mermaid Convention

Chicago femcee Chella H is giving back to young women in a major way. The “I’m Raw” rapper is hosting a four-day event from Feb. 4-7 at New Beginnings Church in Chicago.

The 1st Annual Mermaid Convention is aimed to provide young women life lessons.

“TEENAGE GIRLS COME HAVE FUN,MEET GREAT PEOPLE FEB 4-7 CHECK FLYER 4MI,” Chella H wrote on her Twitter account.

The event will feature a motivational speech from Karli Butler.

The speech is sure to be very touching as Butler nearly lost her life several years ago after being doused with acid.

In an interview with Conversations Magazine, Butler said, “When I first started speaking I had no idea that something as small as telling my story would be both emotionally healing and empowering for ME, as well as postively impact others. It’s transformed my life in ways I’d never imagined and I’m so thankful. As a survivor of violence, I feel empowered to have a voice. I can tell MY story on MY terms and no one can take that away from me. I think that’s important for anyone who’s been victimized.”

The event will also feature special musical performances from fellow Chicago femcees Tink, Ashley Bankz and Dreezy.
