Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel Turn Down Plea Deals, Will Begin Trial In October

Bobby Shmurda and GS9 brother Rowdy Rebel appeared in Manhattan Supreme Court today.

Bobby Shmurda, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, did not speak with or acknowledge family members or Epic Records executives in attendance (including label president, Sylvia Rhone), according to Revolt.

Rowdy, on the other hand, was cheerful during his appearance sticking his tongue out to supporters and saying “morning, morning, morning” to the judge.

Bobby and Rowdy reportedly turned down eight-year and seven-year plea deals, respectively. BET reports Bobby’s plea deal is for second-degree possession of a weapon and includes five years on probation.

Bobby is charged with multiple conspiracy counts, one count of reckless endangerment, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.

Rowdy is charged with three counts of conspiracy, one count of attempted murder, one count of assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Bobby and Rowdy’s trials will begin Oct. 5.
