50 Cent is in a financial drought after taking million dollar losses in his recent court cases. Fif is now suing his former legal team for offering bad advice on his dealings with Sleek Audio, Business Insider reports. The G-Unit boss filed a complaint against Garvey Schubert Barer in the Connecticut bankruptcy court Tuesday seeking $75 million in damages.
Legal documents filed 50 states GSB “failed to employ the requisite knowledge and skill necessary to properly conduct due diligence of Sleek or to adequately advise Jackson.”
50 Cent partnered with Sleek in 2010 to create his own brand of headphones called “Sleek by 50.” Fif went on to form his own company, SMS Audio, after the Sleek missed its launch deadline. He launched his brand of headphones with the assurance of GSB.
Sleek filed an arbitration proceeding against Fif saying he misappropriated its trade secrets while marketing SMS. Sleek was awarded $16 million in their case.
Fif has been hit with a series of financial blows that led to him to filing bankruptcy. The Queens native was ordered to pay $7 million to mother of Rick Ross’ baby mother for leaking her sex tape.
