Tray Savage Gives Listeners Tour Of ‘Brain Dead’ In Mixtape

The eleventh of November 2013 proved to be a very special day for Glo Gang rapper Tray Savage. Tray released his solo debut mixtape “Brain Dead.” The mixtape title is of extra importance for Tray as it represents his Englewood set.

The project, hosted by DJ Bandz, DJ Victoriouz and Trap-A-Holics, is pure drill. Tray let that be known in opening track “Braindead Intro.” This gives fans a sense of what to expect in the tape.

Tray linked with D.C. artist Fat Trel for “Young Niggas.”

Tray hits the track, rapping, “Rolling off this molly, while in the party/Smoking on this dope, I’m hella shawty/Bitch, I don’t want her, her mouth a loner/Bitch, I don’t want her, her mouth a loner/Bitch, my young niggas pulling damn triggers/And all my young niggas, them my only niggas.”

Trel follows, rapping, “Popping out with my young niggas, we turned up in the trap/Them savages from Chraq with them 30 clips and them straps/The 50 clips and them macks/My swisher filled with that pack/Double cup with that axe/Bitch, how gon act.”

One of Tray’s more interesting collaborations on this project was “Peso,” featuring YMCMB’s lyrical spitter Cory Gunz.

The two rappers are all about their green in this track.

Smoke dope with the lean, hoe/Fall out, bet a nigga won’t try me though/Brain dead who I came for/Where your little nigga done by the front door/Smoke dope with the lean, hoe/Fall out, bet a nigga won’t try me though.”

Cory Gunz slammed the track with bars, rapping, “Yo, niggas still broke/Real nigga, hood rich in the field, though/storm niggas in my steel toes/Skim dough, the window you can feel, though/Mushrooms when he peel though/Flesh wound, chest wounds can’t heal those.”

Tray Savage’s Glo Gang crew lent him some assistance on tracks “Faces” featuring Gino Marley, “My Set” and “Fasho” featuring BallOut, “God Damn” featuring Tadoe and“Free 99” featuring Fredo Santana.

Chief Keef’s lone feature came on the track “Bandz.”

Tray Savage’s debut was nothing short of a gritty, harrowing portrayal of his background and mentality. Take a listen, so Tray Savage can give you a tour of his set on “Brain Dead.”
