A group of thieves are alleged to be using fake roadblocks as a means to attack drivers in South Side Chicago, according to WGN.
Three to four young men, between the ages of 17 and 23, are suspected of baiting drivers by blocking streets with a construction barrel in the Fuller neighborhood on 51st and Wentworth, the Chicago Tribune reports. The thieves then beat and rob motorists after they exist their vehicles.
The robberies reportedly took place Thursday, March 26 and Sunday, March 29. A police station is only two blocks away from where the crimes occurred.
“The police is right up there but they don’t do nothing,” a concerned resident told WGN. “But they always giving people tickets.”
The suspects are still at-large.
