A Rutgers student has plead guilty to sexually assaulting his roommate while he was sleeping two years ago. Minjin Oh used a cell phone to record himself fondling his roommate’s genitals, NJ.com reports.
His roommate awoke during the incident and reported it to university police. Oh accepted a plea deal that requires him to spend up to a year in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick, NJ.com reports. He is also required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
Oh has not been expelled from the university. He was, however, removed from the dormitory.
Rutgers spokesman Greg Trevor told NJ.com Oh faces university disciplinary action, including possibly expulsion.
“The university recognizes the seriousness of this incident and the need to protect the community,” he said. “The university is proceeding immediately under the code of student conduct, and the maximum penalty for serious misconduct is expulsion.”
