Juvenile Talks Whether Young Thug’s ‘Carter Six’ Is Karma For Lil Wayne’s ‘500 Degreez’

Lil Wayne current dispute with Young Thug over his then-mixtape title “Carter Six” somewhat mirrors the 2002 dispute with Juvenile over his “500 Degreez” album. As Hip Hop heads know, Juvie dropped his iconic “400 Degreez” in 1998.

Juvie would release his album “600 Degreez” in response to Weezy’s actions.

Global Grind caught up with Juvenile on Tom Joyner’s 2015 Fantastic Voyage cruise. Juvie weighed in on whether Lil Wayne’s current predicament is karma.

“People say that, but I don’t fall in it, I’m too old for all of that,” Juvie said. “I don’t like negativity or anything negative coming to Juve. That’s why I end my show with “do something positive with your life.” That’s how I feel right now. I don’t want to do things like that anymore. I’m not with that, beefing or battling with each other, because at the end of the day, we’re all Black and trying to get money and them niggas need to cut the bullshit.

Young Thug had to change the name of his “Carter Six” project to “Barter Six” because Lil Wayne threatened to sue him.

“Can’t name the mixtape ‘Carter Six’ because these f-ck ass n-ggas tryna sue just like some h-es,” Thug said in a vlog. “Big ol blood gon go on ‘Barter Six.’”

Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter made it known she was opposed to the ATL rapper’s project.

Lil Wayne dissed Young Thug during a performance.

“Yall let him know I said ‘F*ck em,’” Weezy said. “…I want yall to do me a favor. Stop listening to songs of n-ggas that pose naked on their motherf-cking album cover.”

Thug responded by calling Wayne his idol.

“I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career,” he said in a vlog. “I feel him on that. But this is my idol. I wouldn’t ever in my life swap words with him or beef with him about nothing. This is a person I look up to. Haha”

His caption on his IG post read, “I respect @liltunechi for being someone so big in my life, no matter what he say.”
