Detroit Police Department Fear Retaliation For Brutal Assault & Robbery Of Doughboyz CashOut’s HBK

Detroit Police fear a violent backlash for a Nov. 30 brutal physical assault at Cobo Hall that left several people injured, including popular rapper HBK of Doughboyz CashOut.

HBK, born Delon Person, was robbed of his “72” chain and knocked unconscious during an ambush at an event held by boxing champ Floyd Mayweather. The incident was recorded and uploaded to social media on Thanksgiving Day.

Detroit police Sgt. Michael Woody spoke with CBS Detroit regarding the incident.

“We’re doing the best we can to save some lives here,” Woody said.

Woody attributed the violence to two rap factions.

“The fight took place between two rappers. During the fight, one of the rapper’s gold chain necklace was stolen,” he added.

The culprits behind the assault are allegedly from the East Side of Detroit. Rival rappers Icewear Vezzo and Green Guy Webbie can be seen in the assault footage.

Green Guy Webbie posted a photo of himself wearing the stolen “72” chain on Instagram.

Webbie later denied his role in the attack in statements posted to Twitter.

“THE MEDIA SO CRAZY PEOPLE DON’T EVEN NO WHAT WENT DOWN PEOPLE WILL SAY ANYTHING

“THE MEDIA WILL SAY AND BELIEVE ANYTHING IF YOU WASN’T THERE SHUT THE FUCK UP AND I DO NOT HAVE THAT CHAIN AND YES I DID TAKE A PIC WIT IT,” he wrote.

Vezzo offered a statement of his own on Twitter, writing, “I’m tryna set examples for Theese kids and this the shit my name get dragged in?”

Woody told CBS there is much concern over potential violence with threats of retaliation on social media.

“I mean, this is a big concern for the citizens and we’ve been getting phone calls into the office as early as just a few hour ago,” he said. “It’s a concern for them because there’s potential for a lot of bullets to go flying … We’re talking a large group of people that are making threats.”

HBK commented on the ordeal, telling fans he is “good.”

“Only scary niggaz run but I’m good doe thanks everybody 4 checking on a nigga ‪#BYLUG,” he wrote on Twitter.

HBK has no plans of filing a police report.

“Come on now the last thing I would do is press charges I dont even like da fucking cops myself… da hating dont work so they tell lies,” he wrote.
