‘Bop King’ Lil Kemo Teaches ‘The Kemo Step’

Anyone who hasn’t heard Lil Kemo must’ve been living under a rock for the past year. Lil Kemo took the Windy City by storm after revolutionizing the bop.

The “Bop” is a dance that originated in Chicago. It has undergone many transformations throughout several generations. Originally performed in the late 50s and early 60s, the “Bop” was a smooth, calm dance of striding, gliding, dipping and dabbing, according to steppersexpress.com.

Kemo linked up with My Vision Films to drop a visual to his song ‘Kemo Step,’ a Mudd Gang production. In the visual, Kemo gives viewers a tutorial on this new dance.

In order to properly do the “Kemo Step,” there are a variety of moves one must learn, including, grabbing something, breaking a leg, slide bopping and finding your swag.

Kemo’s dance prompted others to create their own version of the “Kemo Step.”
