2 Mississippi College Students Shot to Death

Two Mississippi college students were murdered this past weekend, according to Fox News. John Sanderson, 21, a student at Mississippi State, and Jackson State University student Nolan Ryan Henderson, 19, were shot in separate incidents.

Sanderson was shot in a school dormitory, while Henderson was shot in the face at an off-campus apartment pool party, Fox News reports.

Mississippi State University president Mark Keenum issued a statement on the school’s website.

“Our Bulldog Family is saddened by this event and the loss of one of our students,” he said. “Our hearts go out to John Sanderson’s family and friends. They continue to be in our prayers.”

Sanderson was taken to Oktibbeha County Hospital Saturday morning where he died a short while later. Three male suspects reportedly fled the building in a blue Crown Victoria, according to a police report obtained by Fox News. No arrests have been made.

Henderson’s body was found a few hours after the shooting death of Sanderson. He was lying on a walkway inside Palisades Apartments, Fox News reports.

The Jackson State University student body held a vigil for Henderson on Sunday.
